Lake Placid Horse Show Grounds
The site of the 1980 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies and home to the Olympic Torch used in the 1980 Winter Games.

MacKenzie-Intervale Olympic Jumping Complex
Elevator ride to top of 20-story jump tower and chairlift ride. Watch summer ski jumping on plastic mats. Kodak Sport Park freestyle aerial facility features a 100-foot pool where freestyle athletes soar off plastic covered ramps, flip and twist in the air, and land in 750,000 gallons of water.

Olympic Center
The largest ice complex of its kind in the world located in the center of the Village. Watch figure skating, speed skating and hockey on four indoor rinks.

Olympic Center Museum
Located in the Olympic Center, this museum features memorabilia, videos, photos, and information about the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games.

Olympic Site Tours
Self-guided tour of Olympic sites, including Whiteface Mountain Highway and chairlift ride, Olympic jumping complex, and 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic museum.

Olympic Sports Complex at Mt. Van Hoevenberg
Display and video presentation. One-half mile passenger rides on a wheeled bobsled during the summer months; winter rides on runners on the ice track.

United States Olympic Training Center
The Olympic Training Center (OTC) is one of only three facilities in the nation. It serves athletes from across the country that train in a variety of short- and long-term programs in both winter and summer sports. The OTC is open year-round and is your chance to see where Olympic hopefuls live and train.

Whiteface Mountain Gondola
The Gondola ride takes visitors over ski trails, wooded areas and scenic overlooks with breathtaking views of the Ausable Chasm. Great view of Lake Placid and surrounding mountains. Open summer and winter.

Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway
Drive the eight-mile highway and enjoy spectacular views from the 4,876-foot summit. On a clear day vistas include Montreal, Lake Champlain, and the Green Mountains of Vermont. Open May through mid-October.

Adirondack Park Visitor's Interpretive Center
This is the orientation center for the six million-acre Adirondack Park, including educational trails, theatre presentations, naturalist-led programs, wildlife and ecology exhibits and live bird of prey presentations.

Adirondack Scenic Railroad
You're invited to experience the Adirondack railroad adventure riding in vintage coaches or in the open-air cars. The train travels through remote forests, past sparkling rivers, ponds and streams and into the magnificent beauty of Adirondack Park.

Skiing or hiking scenic Whiteface Mountain is always an adventure.


High Falls Gorge
Take a self-guided scenic tour of this natural wonder, with three waterfalls plunging 700 feet. You'll enjoy the rock shop, gift shop, and restaurant. A picnic area is also available.

Lake Placid Marina
Go on a one-hour narrated cruise in an all-weather boat on scenic, historic Lake Placid. See and hear about the stately manors built along the shore, Adirondack wildlife and Whiteface Mountain, site of the alpine events of the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. Several tours daily.

Veterans Memorial Highway
Drive to the top of the only Adirondack high peak accessible by car. Catch stunning views of the surrounding region on your five-mile ascent. At the top, you'll find a castle built from native stone, a tunnel and elevator built deep inside the mountain, a short hiking trail, and a spectacular 360-degree panorama.

White Pine Camp
Visit the historic Adirondack "Great Camp," which has hosted many prominent owners and guests. Built in 1907, White Pine Camp served as the 1926 summer White House for President Calvin Coolidge. Unique among the grand, rustic estates of the Adirondacks, it is known for its outstanding architecture and interesting history. It is comprised of 20 on-site buildings.

Tours daily at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., reservations requested for groups of 10 or more
